A lil about me

I still don't know how to use this thing. I should go find a 6 year old to do some HTML for me so I can have a nice template.

Anyway, I'm Jill. 26, recently married, born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I work at Oriental Trading where I design products for Hands on Fun (teacher resources) and Fun Expressions (scrapbooking).

Crafting
I'm not too handy with the crafting, which is why I've started to do a lil bit in hopes of it just coming to me. I can draw, why the hell can't I sew?

Fabric
I like felt. Felt is cheap and forgiving and easy to sew. I also like cotton fabric and I've just started to stockpile. My pile is very small. No idea what I'm going to do with it, but it's there and there's more on the way. I especially like Japanese fabric, the kind with little mushrooms and owls and hedgies and fruit. The fabric stores in Omaha SUCK btw.

Indie
I love the indie craft movement. Everytime I see a blog for a craft show somewhere 1200 miles from me, I shed a little tear. I would have killed to go to Plush You. Maybe someday I'll be free of debt and free of the fear of traveling alone, and I'll venture out. My husband would not be happy being dragged to a craft show in CA or Boston, believe me. But if there's a track event nearby (not Nascar), he could be talked into it.

Etsy
I have an Etsy problem. Good for the crafters, bad for my money. I can't stay off it, it's like crack. I'm not saying I know what crack is like, I'm just saying. It used to be Ebay, but I have a hard time bidding and not winning. If I want something, why can't I just GET IT? Thank god for Buy It Now, but I haven't got anything from Ebay for a couple years. I think my last purchase was a beautiful 50s mermaid TV lamp. I had to have it, bidding started pretty low, $40 or something. But it was MINE. I think I spent $320 on it. ^_^
John, if you're reading this...not a word. Shush.

Awwww.....me and my John

We were married August 24, 2006 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica

So, that's enough for now, if you like what you read, feel free to do whatever it is you do to add friends on here. Told ya I didn't know what I was doing on this thing. Now how do I get this to save?

I see you're in Omaha. There's a fairly new indie craft fair not too terribly far from you. It's called Craft Saturday and it's held in Des Moines every other month. The next one is April 21. You should check it out!

Thank you! I will try and get out there, my husband might even like a little road trip if it's a nice day...and I could go antique-ing, too. :)
