Christmas cone

Christmas cone

I finally made something! I haven't done anything in a long time, so today I decided to get off my rump and make a "vintage" cone. I made it for my mom, but it's going to be hard to give away!

Over 2 months, again?!?

Yeah, I'm bad. I've been slacking on crafts, probably because my craft room is a total wreck. I just open the door, throw a bag in and close it real fast. I never seem to have a whole day to myself to get anything done. Maybe this Sunday. Maybe.

I never posted about my fall scrapbook kit, well...here it is! It's called Apple Pickin' and includes the paper kit, chipboard, rub-ons and sticky ribbon

I really like this collection, but my favorite part, the scarecrow, is only on a couple things. I really wish I could have done stamps for this set.

Over 2 months??

I'm a bad, bad blogger. Haven't had much to say, really.
Had an anniversary (1 year!), received my 2 (yes 2) cases of JLed Finders Keepers (see post below), made $250 at my mom's garage sale last weekend, that's about it.

I have 2 swaps to put together and send very soon, one is Halloween and the other is Apples, they're both from a group on Flickr. I can't wait for these because I've only done one swap, and these have 3 swap-partners each! I need to get crackin on the little felt ornaments I'm sending with the swaps.

Been wanting to take pictures of new goodies I've bought for Halloween, I suppose I'll just wait until I decorate now. I think I'll start tonight because all my new things are calling to me!

Here's my Skull paper set for work. I'm kinda disappointed in the the quality we're getting but I can't do much about it. (pictures courtesy of OTC's website)

Kill me now

Kidrobot - Joe Ledbetter Finders Keepers
Release date: August 30th
16 figures
20 to a case/blind boxed of course
So, I really should plan to buy 2 cases, right? omg.

They're showing 3 styles in 2 colorways here. That makes me think there are 8 styles/2 colorways. So, do I really need 2 cases if there aren't 16 different-style figures? What are they not showing us?? AHHHHH!!

43 days to go. :faint:

Shinzi Katoh fabric and kawaii terrycloth

My ridiculous fabric obsession is back, it's been awhile since I bought any so I made an order with superbuzzy and reprodepot.
I could have spent a lot more, I think I was pretty good.
I ordered this very expensive but very worth it fabric from superbuzzy.com on Tuesday, I can't wait to get it!

Along with these terrycloth prints!

I'll put up a picture when I get everything. :)

Mushies at Urban Outfitters

Ceramic mushie bank $18
Kinda bulky looking, but that means it just holds more coinage. :D

Ceramic mushie S&P shakers $16
These don't look like they're painted the best, but I still like them.

I'll try to post up pictures of my ever-growing mushie collection, I've picked up some new things recently.

My current favorite artist

Joe Ledbetter
http://www.joeledbetter.com

And he has toys...

His original paintings are going for up to $2500, I'd give my left arm for one. I wish I could go to gallery showings in CA and at least see them, that'd make me happy.

My BBQ scrapbooking line is in the catalog!

Here it is! My BBQ paper pack, acrylic stamps, epoxy stickers and sticky ribbon! The first two shots are from the Fun Expressions home page, they show some projects and the latest catalog cover (I did the cover).
I'm super excited, even though the paper shot does not show the whole kit, but I've let someone know and hopefully they'll replace that picture online.

Long time no post...

ribbon jar
Originally uploaded by gtcowgirl.

I had to share this picture of a tiny part of my ribbon stash. I took the photo so I could show it to a buyer at work. The ribbon spools and Ball canning jar are from Michael's, they are hard to resist! I only have 10 different spools, but the store had at least 100! Aren't they adorable?

Squeee!!

Check out this tiddlywinks set! Just so you know, I will be ordering this just for the mushroom. :o)
It's 2 3/4", so it's pretty tiny, but it's only $5.95!

vinyl obsession

So, I love vinyl toys. I just can't buy them. There's too many I want, and too many other things to get instead (like fabric, duh). I'll be content for awhile with this one

This is Shag's Casino Qee, keychain-size. He's still in his little box. But, at least I have a Qee (even though it's teeny) and I couldn't ask for a better starter. Shag+vinyl=happy!

I did get I Am Plastic for xmas. Made mom buy it for me at Borders. I had a 40% off coupon, how could I let it sit there?

It's yummy. I enjoy it greatly.

Fabric goodness

Oh noes! Kitty-craft has loads of new fabric! Including the hedgie and mushroom one that I covert! My order is in. I was good though, there were about 5 I deleted from my basket. http://www.kitty-craft.com

My Etsy disease

As I mentioned before, I have an Etsy problem. The problem being that there are just too many damn good artists that make cute little stuff that I must have.
For example, this adorable vintage-mold ceramic owl. I bought 2, the other is ivory colored.
(Someone please tell me how to name my links)
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=16748

Next are these polymer clay mushroom magnets from rubyfaz. (Link on the right under Etsy'ers)

Tiki plushie from Cuddly Rigor Mortis http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5652

I have a few dozen more to add, but I's tired now, I think I'm gonna go home. (meaning to the couch with the cat)

A lil about me

I still don't know how to use this thing. I should go find a 6 year old to do some HTML for me so I can have a nice template.

Anyway, I'm Jill. 26, recently married, born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I work at Oriental Trading where I design products for Hands on Fun (teacher resources) and Fun Expressions (scrapbooking).

Crafting
I'm not too handy with the crafting, which is why I've started to do a lil bit in hopes of it just coming to me. I can draw, why the hell can't I sew?

Fabric
I like felt. Felt is cheap and forgiving and easy to sew. I also like cotton fabric and I've just started to stockpile. My pile is very small. No idea what I'm going to do with it, but it's there and there's more on the way. I especially like Japanese fabric, the kind with little mushrooms and owls and hedgies and fruit. The fabric stores in Omaha SUCK btw.

Indie
I love the indie craft movement. Everytime I see a blog for a craft show somewhere 1200 miles from me, I shed a little tear. I would have killed to go to Plush You. Maybe someday I'll be free of debt and free of the fear of traveling alone, and I'll venture out. My husband would not be happy being dragged to a craft show in CA or Boston, believe me. But if there's a track event nearby (not Nascar), he could be talked into it.

Etsy
I have an Etsy problem. Good for the crafters, bad for my money. I can't stay off it, it's like crack. I'm not saying I know what crack is like, I'm just saying. It used to be Ebay, but I have a hard time bidding and not winning. If I want something, why can't I just GET IT? Thank god for Buy It Now, but I haven't got anything from Ebay for a couple years. I think my last purchase was a beautiful 50s mermaid TV lamp. I had to have it, bidding started pretty low, $40 or something. But it was MINE. I think I spent $320 on it. ^_^
John, if you're reading this...not a word. Shush.

Awwww.....me and my John

We were married August 24, 2006 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica

So, that's enough for now, if you like what you read, feel free to do whatever it is you do to add friends on here. Told ya I didn't know what I was doing on this thing. Now how do I get this to save?
